Alison is the youngest of three daughters of a family doctor in Harrow, Middlesex. Now retired, she had a lifelong career in research and development for an international pharma company based in the UK, which she thoroughly enjoyed and her work was very important to her. She and Simon have two children: the elder, Alex, has Down’s syndrome; his loving nature was the inspiration for this book and Charlotte, the younger, whose birth seemed a miraculous gift.
Alison enjoys a full and active social life in the company of friends and family. She enjoys swimming, entertaining and travel.
Hi Alison,
My mother was Simon’s mum’s best friend Marjorie. I met you both way back in 1976 when I was visiting with “Auntie” Marjorie, “Uncle” Alan and Katie. I have heard about Alex from my mother, it sounds as though there have been lots of highs and lows, just like all families. I did look a Amazon.com but it says the book is out of print. I will keep looking.
In the mean time, please say hi to Simon for me too. I am currently living near Myrtle Beach, SC and can also be found on on facebook. Good luck with your book, I am sure it will be a success.
Sharon
